I actually decided to buy the Zojirushi BBCCX20for my wife on our 20th anniversary. I knew she was interested in a bread maker, because I saw her admiring the BBCCX20 over at our next door neighbor's house.

We both had been brought up in households that baked homemade bread, so we really have missed it in recent years. In my house, my mother made the bread from scratch, by hand. We did not have the luxury of a bread machine until I was in high school.

And, that bread maker was a FAR cry from the BBCCX20 home bakery!I still have memories of that repetitive, droning noise that could literally be heard throughout the entire house! Granted, the bread that it made was super, but I sometimes wonder if it was worth putting up with all that noise!

The unit arrived two days later as promised. Actually, it was 3 days before our anniversary, but I couldn't wait! I surprised my wife when she came upon it in our kitchen the next morning. At first, she did not recognize that the Zujirushi BBCCX20 was a bread machine.

She had kind of forgotten what our neighbor's looked like, and had to take a closer look. When she saw that it was the BBCCX20, just like our neighbor's, she let out a squeal of delight!

We were amazed how compact it is, and how well it fit on top of our pantry shelf. I think the manual stated that it weighs 15 lbs. The bread maker that adorned my kitchen in my early years, weighed about as much as my current S.U.V!(just kidding)

We have been using the BBCCX20 for 3 weeks now, which is plenty long enough to report our opinions on it's performance. I will say this, I sure enjoy watching the Zojirushi BBCCX20 Home Bakery Supreme, do it's "thing", through the large viewing window!
